The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is a spectacular high-altitude adventure that spans 7 nights and 8 days, taking you through some of the most breathtaking alpine lakes of Kashmir—Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, and Gangabal. Graded as a difficult trek, this journey continually challenges trekkers while rewarding them with unmatched natural beauty and dramatic Himalayan landscapes.

The trekking route winds through lush green meadows, dense pine forests, crystal-clear mountain streams, snow-clad peaks, and high mountain passes. The trek begins from the scenic Nichnai Valley, a trail surrounded by alpine pastures, glacier-fed streams, and towering mountain ranges. From here, you reach Vishansar Lake, the first alpine lake of the trek, followed by Kishansar Lake, set amidst vast rolling meadows.

The trail then ascends to Gadsar Pass, the highest point of the trek at approximately 4,300 meters, offering mesmerizing panoramic views, including distant glimpses of Mount Nanga Parbat. The journey continues towards the serene Satsar Lakes, a cluster of pristine water bodies. From Satsar, the trek leads to the Gangabal campsite, crossing the scenic Zaji Pass while enjoying stunning views of Mount Harmukh, rising to nearly 5,000 meters. The trek concludes with a descent into Naranag Valley, followed by a drive back to Srinagar.

Throughout the trek, you will walk at altitudes ranging between 2,000 and 4,000 meters, giving you a rare chance to witness the rich flora and fauna of the northwestern Himalayas. The majestic Harmukh Peak, towering at around 5,400 meters, inspires awe at every turn. One of the most magical aspects of the trek is the lakes themselves, which change colours throughout the day—from crystal clear at sunrise to shades of sea green, light blue, and deep inky blue by evening. This trek promises memories that will last a lifetime.
